Ph.D. Candidate | Department of Teaching and Learning | University of Miami
Currently, I am a Ph.D. candidate in Language and Literacy Learning in Multilingual Settings in the Department of Teaching and Learning at the University of Miami, expecting to graduate in Summer 2026.
My research examines Korean as a Foreign Language (KFL) education, Korean heritage language learners (HLLs) in transnational and multilingual contexts, and technology-enhanced language learning.
Prior to my PhD training, I taught Korean as a full-time lecturer at the University of Pennsylvania. In addition to teaching courses across all levels, including introductory, heritage language, and content-and-language integrated courses, I was actively involved in developing pedagogical innovations, which resulted in various awards and grants, presentations at national conferences, and the development of teaching materials for new open-source textbooks.
